4-9-11 Structure Fire 44 Joseph Place

 

On Saturday April 9, 2011 West Milford Fire companies 4, 1 and 6 were dispatched to a reported deck on fire in the rear of the house at 44 Joseph Place.

Assistant Chief 1 was the first arriving fire unit on scene and reported a working fire with heavy smoke showing. Chief 4 arrived next and assumed command and requested Tanker 2 be dispatched and a FAST team from Co. 5 to the scene.

Firefighters made an aggressive attack and quickly extinguished the blaze. There was one minor injury to a firefighter, It was a possible sprained ankle. The injured firefighter was treated and transported to Chilton Hospital by the West Milford First Aid Squad.

Also assisting during the incident was Tanker 262 from Ringwood's Stonetown fire company standing by at Station 4, and an Engine from the Bloomingdale Fire Department standing by at Station 1.

The Fire is currently under investigation by the West Milford Fire Marshall's office.
