3-18-11 Structure Fire 401 Otterhole Rd.

morning March 18, 2011 at 7:21 am, West Milford fire companies 4, 1 and 6 were
dispatched to a house fire at 401 Otterhole Road. Numerous 911 calls reported
smoke and flames coming from the rear of the home.
Company 1 Assistant Chief Robert Kirk was the first arriving fire unit and
reported a working fire. At that moment Fire Commissioner Ed Steines requested
Tanker 2 be dispatched to the scene. Company 4 Chief Steve Pellington arrived on
scene and established command.
Engine 4 was the first arriving fire apparatus, the crew pulled one 2"
attack line and entered through the front door. The fire was in the attic of the
home in C-D area of the structure. Engine 61 arrived and was assigned to vent.
Tanker 1 was next in and their crew pulled a second 2" attack line from
Engine 4 and also entered through the front door. Tanker 1 tied a supply line
into Engine 4 and supplied them with water.
The blaze was quickly brought under control. Also assisting at the scene was a
"RIT" team from Co. 5. Standing by at Station 4 was Ringwood's Tanker
262, and at Station 1 was Bloomingdale's Engine 661.
The West Milford First aid Squad supplied rehab to firefighters on scene. There
were no injuries reported during incident
