Fire broke out in this Upper Greenwood Lake home at about 5 pm Saturday evening February 5, 2005. Fire company's 5, 3, 6 and 4 responded on the first alarm. The residents were not home at the time of the fire. Additional units from Vernon Township, Ringwood and Warwick NY were also dispatched to standby while West Milford firefighters battled this blaze. There were no reported injuries, however 5 cats and 2 dogs were lost in the blaze. The fire is under investigation by West Milford Fire Marshal Mike Woch and the West Milford Police Department. The cause of the fire is unknown at this time but is believed to be electrical in nature.
